In a hadith by
Bukhari, RasulAllah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “One of the signs of the
day of judgment is that the the number of women would increase and the number
of men would decrease so there would be 50 women for 1 man.” In the explanation
for the hadith by An-Nawawi, he says that the reason will be during the time of
trials and tribulations, the men will be killed in battles. Therefore, the
number of men will go down and the ratio will increase.
