29. Cars

This hadith can be interpreted as the transportation of cars. In a hadith by Ahmad, RasulAllah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “In the future, there will be men of my Ummah sitting over surooj [saddle] on things that are similar to camels, but not exactly camels. And they descend from these vehicles at masaajid but their wives are dressed, but naked. Curse them, for they are cursed.” In another hadith, the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam described the vehicles as having “wide seats.” RasulAllah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam was describing cars, but there were not cars at that time, so he gave this description.

In the Qur’aan, Allah subhaana wa ta’aala refers to them by saying, “camels, donkeys and things you do not know.” wAllahu ‘Alam, there will be more forms of transportation that we don’t know about, in the future.
